You ignore the girl for the moment. Your head is hurting too bad and you just want to get out of the wrecked car. You undo your seat belt, open the door and step out. The girl stands back waiting for you to speak or make a move. She is gripping a fire axe tight in her right hand. You take notice to it, she might know how to use it so making any sudden movements might startle her. You stumble your way to the hood of the car put your hands on it to catch your breath and stop yourself from vomiting. you try to remember what caused this whole mess. You remember going to the supermarket barricade you heard in a broadcast on the radio to find it empty for the most part except for a couple of dead bodies. One mangled and chewed up in a small supply room and one shot in the head in an upstairs office. There was also a couple of dead infected but you don't count them. You throw up over the hood of the car, you couldn't hold it any longer.

1. Speak to the girl.

2. Keep moving, you don't want to make contact.

3. Take a rest for a bit, you're took sick to keep moving.

You wipe your mouth and take a seat on a dry portion of the hood of the car and look towards the girl. You motion with your hand towards her to come to you. She walks over and stands a little far off from you.
"Are you bit?" She asks, putting both hands on the handle of the fire axe.
"No, I'm not." You reply. "If you haven't noticed I was in a car accident and I'm not feeling very well, do you have any pain killers or other medicine?"
"I might." She replies motioning to the figure sitting in the passenger seat of her car to come out. A young girl no more then 8 years old comes out of the car and approaches you two.
"Abby, can you check our supplies and see if you can get this man some medicine?" The pretty girl says to the young child. The little girl nods her head and goes back to the car and to check.
"I'm Melissa by the way. What's your name?" She says.

1. "Give me some medicine first and we'll talk."

2. Tell her your name. She's just trying to be friendly.

3. Walk away. Making contact and getting too friendly with people hasn't brought you much in the past.

She hands them to the Melissa who then hands them to you. Generic brand pain killers, just what you needed. You open the container shake to into your hand and pop them in your mouth.
"Okay then Jay...Where are you headed?" She asks accepting the pain killers you handed back to you.
You take a little time to think of her question. Where were you headed? The super market was a bust so you must have been just driving aimlessly across this highway when you crashed into another abandoned car on this highway.
"I don't know really." You reply. "But I'm not staying around to find out. Infected could be on us in any moment."
She nods in approval and begins to make her way back to the car with the child.

1. "Mind if I hitch a ride with you guys?"

2. Continue exploring the highway. Maybe somebody left behind their car keys in a car.

3. Stay behind and try to see if your car will even still run.

4. Wait to see what she does first.

5. Grab the handgun from your car and stick her up for her car.

Melissa sits in the driver seat almost waiting for you to ask for a ride. You ignore her and go to the back set of your car and grab your on foot supplies. The handgun, the crowbar, the flashlight, two flares and a bottle containing a small amount of infected blood you carry around with you. You stuff the contents in several pockets of your coat and close the door of the backseat.
"Hey! Want a ride?" Melissa calls to you from the driver seat of her car. Sounds tempting but they could slow you down. You don't doubt Melissa's survival skills, but the small child? No. She will definitely slow you down.
"No thanks, hun. You take care of yourselves though and good luck." You say to her.
"Well...if you're interested were heading to a barricade located at a cabin by Lake Foley. You should try heading there."
"Maybe." You reply.
She drives off and you wave goodbye. Time to move. You begin walking up the highway and after a while of burned out cars, broken down cars, cars with no keys left behind you finally come across an RV. Hmm, that could get you places if it still had to keys in it. Worth a check, right?

1. Check the RV.

2. Avoid the RV, could be trouble in it.

3. Slam on one side of the RV to get the attention of anything within it.

You draw your handgun and make your way to the entrance of the RV. Whatever it was inside was stopping you from making this your mobile base. You had to take it out. You stop outside the door and take a deep breath. Time to get ready. You are about to open the door when a faint clicking noise stops you. You jump out of the way as gunfire pours out of the doorway.
"Don't shoot!" You scream. A man steps out of the RV and onto the highway facing you with a revolver.
"Jesus Christ boy, scared the shit outta me. I thought you was one of 'dem there zombies."
The Old Man drops his defensive stance and eyeballs you.
"You aren't bit, are you, Son?"
Telling him that you are will probably get you killed, unless he's one of those people that help in people in your situation.

I never got to finish chapter 3 because my computer kept crashing whenever I began writing it. But it followed a man within a house out on the countryside who was slowly going crazy. He named every infected he came across and his alarm clock too. The finale for that chapter involved a battle with the chained up infected he had down in his basement. It either ended up with the main character getting bit or dying to the infected or committing suicide due to having many feelings for the infected.)

You don't want to stray off from the RV so you decide to make your way back to where you saw the limousine. You pass the RV and the Old Man calls down to you, "Done explorin' son? Ready to head out?"

The Old Man catches it and pops the top off with his belt buckle. "Thanks, son. I'll keep you covered from here. If you see an of them runners lead them into the open and I'll pick'em off. I'm pretty sure you can deal with them slow ones, eh?" He says.
You nod and begin to walk up the highway. You walk past your totaled car. It got you this far, you only wish it got you farther. You come within the area of the limousine. The passenger door of the limousine is open. A dead body who you assume must have been the chauffeur is laying on the highway not far from the limousine. He must have been dragged out here. You spot an infected not far from the limousine leaning its head against one of the highway walls. The infected is clenching a broken bottle.

1. Look inside the limousine quietly.

2. Get the attention of the infected.

3. Shoot the infected from your location.

4. Attack the infected with your crowbar.

5. Signal to the old man.

You figured this infected might cause you trouble so you turn back to the Old Man and wave. He waves back. You point in the direction of the infected and act out the slow shuffle an infected. The Old Man nods and looks through the scope of his rifle. There's no way you can miss something like this. You turn towards the infected waiting for the shot. A couple of seconds letter and shot echoes through the highway, a split second later the bullet reaches the infected hitting it in the back of the head. Brain matter and blood paint the wall and the body falls limply to the floor. You put up a thumbs up and walk towards the body. You pry the bottle from its hands. Some sort of champagne bottle you assume, it must have gotten it from the limousine. Man Hunter's, that's what survivors called the infected that used weapons to kill. You kick the body a little and turn back towards the limousine. Time to loot it. A loud yell from the distance catches your attention. Another loud yell answers it. This one was closer. Those yells were from howlers. You begin to panic.

1. Run out into the open so the Old Man can help you pick them off.

2. Remain calm and hold your area. Fight with the crowbar if they come to close, shoot at them from a distance.

3. Hop into the limousine to hide. They haven't seen you yet. If they come inspect the body of a fallen comrade you can ambush them.

If we run into the open we do it fast and we get on the otherside of something like a car, and flag the old man so he knows the shit's about to hit the fan.. now unless he's actually smart and not loyal to a stranger he's already in the RV, but if he's not then in that case, just try and get ready to pop shots, revolver first, then our own handgun. Set the crowbar next to you, no fucking way i would want to melee more than one of the fucks.

You decide to leave the area as soon as you hear a third scream from another howler answer the first two yells. You begin running out in the open towards the RV and the Old Man. The Old Man takes notice to your frantic running and immediately takes aim through the scope. You keep your eyes trained on the RV and don't even bother to turn around. Doing that will slow you down and those running steps behind you sound awfully close. The Old Man fires off a round and you hear the infected that was chasing you fall to the ground. You reach the RV and pull out the revolver and turn around to see the other two howlers barely passing the limousine.

1. Hide out in the RV and let the Old Man take care of the infected.

2. Fire at them if they get too close while the Old Man tries to pick them off from afar.

3. Keep running to save yourself.

You can't abandon the Old Man now. The first howler comes within range and you unload a round into its chest. It topples to the ground and begins to flail around screaming loudly. You fire a round into its head killing it instantly. The other howler comes into range just as you raise the revolver and pull the trigger. Click. You almost can't believe it as you look down at the revolver, the Old Man had forgot to reload it. You begin to scramble for your handgun but the infected tackles you into the side of the RV. (let me write next part)

You become disoriented from the blow and stumble backwards. The howler rushes you again but this time you were ready as you bring the crowbar with a swipe into its head. The howler falls to the ground and begins to crawl towards you. You try to whack it but miss it as it rolls out of the way. It grabs hold of your ankles and pulls itself up your legs toppling you. You try to push it off but it's too strong as it grabs a hold of you and goes for a neck bite. You hear the loud yell of the Old Man as he grabs the howler by the back of its shirt and pulls it off of you. The howler does a small roll on the ground and gets up on it's feet again and rushes the Old Man. The Old Man brings the rifle high above his head and hits the howler in the face with the butt of the rifle. The howler falls to the ground stunned. You crawl backwards a bit, pull the handgun from your coat and unload a round into the side of the howlers head. It lets off one twitch before it dies.
"Oh sweet lord, sonny. I thought you was a goner back there. Don't scare me like that, ya'gonna give me a goddamn heart attack." Says the Old Man leaning up against the side of the RV catching his breath. You slowly get up checking yourself. No bites, no blood in your wounds. No problem.

You can barely make out his sentence but you knew the basic idea of what he was saying.

Bile rises to your throat, you lean a little off the bed and throw up on the floor. A sweet irony taste fills your mouth. You listen to see if you have woken the Old Man or if he is even asleep. Silence. You slowly rise up in bed and immediately regret it as you suddenly feel very sick again. You're infected you assume. You knew it ever since the blood of the Lurker back in the apartment got into your open wound on your hand. But you didn't think it'd be enough blood. You were wrong. You can hear the Old Man snoring from the room with the couch and the mini fridge. You lean off the side of the bed again and vomit again.

1. Leave the RV and run. The Old Man will try to kill you if he knows you're infected.

2. Wake the Old Man and tell him. He might try to help you if you're infected.

3. Kill yourself. It's the only option.

4. Wait. Maybe you are just injured from the car crash and need to get some stuff out of your system.

On second thought 5 since we're infected anyhow.

Besides..its either die for sure from infection or a bullet in your brain..or try something really weird for no apparent reason. Hey it might just work

You reach into your coat slowly for the handgun. You know what you have to do. Your hand instead touches something furry...you pull it out from the chain it's attached to. It's the rabbits foot. You grip the foot.
"You helped me in the past...what do I do now?" You quietly say. You lean to the side of the bed getting ready to vomit again but you just can't seem, to as much as you want to, because it's making you feel better. You hear the soft crunching of a plastic bottle within your coat. You reach in and pull out the bottle containing the infected blood. You don't know why you thought this was a good idea. It must have been the foot or your delirious mind. You undo the top and pour the blood into your mouth and begin to drink. You want to vomit it up but you force yourself to swallow it. You feel a warm sensation go through your body even though your body is shaking. You lay back down and try to remain calm but you can't stop yourself from shaking. This continues for a few more minutes until you can't take it anymore and vomit once again on the floor. You vomit for what felt like a good 5 minutes, until the point where you could not throw up anymore. You wipe your mouth and lay back in bed. You feel better but you're still shaking. You have enough energy to leave if needed to.

1. Wake the Old Man and make a deal with him.

2. Run from the RV. It's not safe here.

3. Kill the Old Man in his sleep and take over the RV.

4. Go back to sleep. You need to rest now.

You slowly rise from bed fighting back the urge to vomit again make your way into the small room with the couch and the mini fridge. You see and empty two liter Pepsi bottle which you grab and decide to use to silence the handgun shot. You stick the barrel of the handgun into the opening of the bottle and take aim at the Old Man's head.
"Gonna shoot me, eh son?" He says in the darkness.
You don't respond. You only listen, breathing fast.
"I knew you was infected as soon as I saw you. Pale, slow reaction time, tired. Then when you blacked out and started vomiting in the bedroom. Well, that was the icing on the cake. What are ya waitin' for? Shoot me before I shoot you." He says. You can make out his figure in the dark as he slowly puts his hands over his eyes. "Do it fast."
You pull the trigger. The plastic lets off a semi loud bang and the Old Man's head bursts open. You turn on the lights of the RV and inspect your kill. You drag the body from the couch and put him outside. You grab your revolver...his revolver and place it within his hands and return to the RV. You close the door and lock it and vomit it into the near by sink of the small mini kitchen. More blood. You didn't have much time you figured. Might as well go for a small drive.

The End.

being infected in these stories determine how much of infected blood you get within your system. In the first chapter this main character got an average amount within a cut wound on his hand. So yes, after a day or so he became infected.

I kind of want to go back to Chapter 3 because I never got to finish it but I'm thinking about picking up the next story at the cabin barricade by the lake with Melissa and the young child. Except it will follow another main character rather then the girls.

I like the idea of another character being at the lake cabin with the two girls. Maybe some defender there, whose just a little crazy and talks to set-up corpses and the girls have to get away.

Or maybe a one-man tactician who defends the whole place with strategic traps and devices, that makes it seem like he's an army, but really he's just a lonely guy who lives in a mansion.. or maybe a house on the lake and he fishes all day long looking for "serenity" or something.
