Ok, so, there used to be a game in the Chuck E Cheese I used to go to as a kid, but I can't remember the name

You were in charge of steering a pirate ship, the game had a wheel you would turn to make the ship go left or right. There were three stages, you only got to pick one, and the goal was to go through it to the end, picking up as many coins as you could and avoiding any obstacles as possible.

Then at the end, you got to basically roll the dice and either get an extra ticket or get 30 more.

By the way the one I was playing was the one where you put a coin into a slot and it goes down this little slide. You have to try to get it into these slits on a spinning board. I think we ended up with a few hundred tickets and we still couldn't really get anything useful (I say a few hundred because I don't remember how much and I don't remember if that would even be considered a lot).

Anyone have that old Chuck E. Cheese image with the text on it about challenging the unfortunate children to brave the pizza and pay too much for the tokens to play games of skill or whatever? I'd swear I saved that shit but damned if I've been able to locate it in the hundreds of thousands of images I've saved over the last few years.

I don't have very much fond memories of CEC, but I do have fuck tons of memories going to Jillian's with my dad at the mall.

That place had fucking EVERYTHING. My favorite were the gun games like House of the Dead 2 (AAAHDON'TWANNA DIIIEE...), and FUCKING L.A. MACHINEGUNS FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

before we left they had that "virtual reality" thing where you put the helmet on your head from this bulky plastic crane thing...I forget what the game was but I think you shot aliens and shit. Man that place was the bomb.

And the pizza was fucking incredible and deliciously cheesy.

Not to mention that the game store (this was before Gamestop started taking over the world) was RIGHT ACROSS from it, so when we ran out of tokens we would just go over and play the demo games on the display screens. I remember that was first time I had ever played Devil May Cry, and thought "Wow...I wish I had a ps2..."
