let me tell you about a story of my ex. We had this brilliant relationship going, albeit fairly short. It was about 3 and a half months in, and she had to leave for uni. I thought I'd be a good boyfriend, not pester her that much during freshers week, make sure she's having a good time and not being stuck on skype/msn with me. About 4 days after she left, she told me she got kissed by a guy. She pushed him off though. I didn't show getting mad, she's a notorious flirt when drunk anyway, and she doesn't drink much, so I thought "oh, well that's probably just too much booze and disgusting guys". I was happy she pushed him off, and said calmly just not to do something like that again.
The next day she tells me she went out that night and that SHE kissed a guy. I tried not to get mad, didn't really say much, I was in shock more than anything really, but I thought I'd try to let it slide.
She then says she wants to break up with me. I really loved her (still do, even though it's been a year) and said "do you want to break up with me because you feel you have to, or because you want to". She replied with "want to", so I had to let her go, as I thought she'd be happier without me. Became a depressed wreck for a very long time.
Fast forward 2 months, and we're back in contact (went into full retard mode). Turns out the second guy was a test, to see if I would get angry or not. Apparently, trying not to start an argument is a bad thing. I asked why she broke up with me, and she thought I didn't love her enough because I didn't get angry, and I let her go "so easily". I told her she really meant something to me, and that's why I had to let her go, as I'd rather her be happy than me.
Then I grew some balls and said I'd never have her in a relationship again, and terminated contact with her. Still feelsbadman, but I couldn't stay in a relationship with someone that'd try to mess with my head so much, even if I still lover her now
